How Water Moves
Our drinking water is stored in wetlands, lakes, rivers, streams or underground sources (aquifers) which are linked in a watershed through the water cycle.
We also rely on these water resources to supply water for manufacturing, agriculture, energy production, fishing, food processing and many other daily uses. We are also drawn to water for swimming, boating, camping, picnics and lots of other outdoor activities.
The water cycle has remained the same since the beginning of time on earth – we rely on the same water constantly moving between the land and the atmosphere. If we use more than can be naturally replenished, we have less water to use overall forever.
